Organizing a playroom can be a daunting task. This is generally what my kids playroom ends up looking like after a few days. A complete and total disaster. Some people might look at this and think that it will take forever to clean up. But it honestly only takes me about 20 minutes to make it look like this again…
What’s my secret? Baskets! I am obsessed with baskets and you will find them everywhere in my house, including lots in the playroom. Keeping this room organized is essential for my sanity, because if it’s left alone for too long, the toys start to spill out into every other room in our house. And this makes me anxious and moody and no one really likes me then.
I am in love with these organizers from Closetmaid available through Amazon. You will find them in almost every room of my house. They are amazing! They come in various sizes and colors. The ones pictures are the 6 cube ones and they work great for my 2 little ones. They are the perfect height for them to reach the stuff on top and still have plenty of storage. You can get the collapsible cubes that fit in these perfectly from Amazon as well by clicking here. These come in tons of colors and patterns so you can match any décor you have. I also found wire baskets that fit like these and fabric ones like these.
We have an extremely large amount of dress up and pretend play items so I needed something that would hold it all. This toybox from Step 2 was exactly what we needed. It was large enough to fit everything, super durable, and has a lid that doubles as an art easel. And of course another basket to hold all of our legos. This one on Amazon is just like the one we have.
I told you I am obsessed with baskets. More of these woven baskets as well as this wicker basket to hold all of our animals. And this art easel is great because it doesn’t take up much space. The top flips down if your little ones want to sit and draw or it can be flipped up to stand and paint. And several storage bins to keep all you art supplies together are included.
Kids are chaos and are super good at making huge messes. But having an easy way to store everything helps to drastically cut down on cleaning time. Because honestly, who want to spend all day cleaning that mess up? Not me, that’s for sure. Leave me a comment and let me know how you keep your little ones toys under control. And don’t forget to share this if you found it helpful.
