So for a while now, this wall in my living room has been plaguing me. It was just this huge empty space with one lone picture.
I have been scouring Pinterest for months to get some ideas to decorate this wall. Finally I came up with a plan and did this.
I am so excited with how it turned out. Never have I been much of a decorator but I really wanted our house to feel like a home.
First I started with the crossword in the center. I ordered these wooden tiles from Amazon and stained them with some stain we had leftover from a previous project. I was going to use 4″ tiles, but opted for the 3″ ones because of the length of the names. Then I cut out my letters on adhesive using my Cricut Explore Air 2 and placed them on my tiles.
Next I worked my way out from there. I picked up most of the decorations at Big Lots during one of their 20% off sales. Then I went to At Home and Homegoods to get the rest.
I also made this sign with the dates using my Cricut. I had an 8×10 canvas from a pack I bought just like these. All I did was cut the dates out of adhesive vinyl and applied it to the canvas. There was some difficulty applying it to the bare canvas. Next time, I am going to paint the canvas first so that it’s not so porous and the vinyl adheres better.
All in all, I couldn’t be happier with it! The only thing I have to do now is add my kids pictures to the frames. I hope you get any inspiration you might need for your next project.
